We give almost everything away FREE because we believe in HDR Photography. While many other charge for knowledge (their choice) we choose to freely give ours away. In response to that, we have started a digital tip jar. (Donation system basically)
If this website has blessed you, taught you something that you didn’t know, and you just want to donate a little money as a way of saying thank you, that is what the tip jar is for. At the end of the day, it helps keep gas in the car so I can go do more tutorials and photo adventures so you can learn more about HDR Photography. You are helping me help you ultimately.
Our tip jar is Google Wallet
I am a huge fan of Google. I love their product and one of those that I love is called Google Wallet. It is like Paypal but only much, much better. If you have a gmail account (which is everyone and their dog these days), you already have an account with Google Wallet!
Step 1: Send an email!
If you go to compose an email, you do it just like any other email. The only differnce is that in the bar below is a few icon. One of those is a dollar sign. That is how you start to use Google Wallet!
All you need to do is send an email just like you would to anyone else. My email for google is [email protected] That is all you need to get started. Just title it “Tip from….” Makes it easier for me to know what in the world it is.
As I said, I have been using Google Wallet the last few years and I quite impressed. If you are a paypal user, you might consider trying the Google option out. It works must better in my opinion.
Step 2: Attach the money
A popup will come up and all you do is put in how much you want to send and your payment details. It works alot like paypal actually.
There is actually two screens here, the first one is to add the payment and the second one is attach it to the email at gmail.
Another unrelated feature that you might want to try out is you can request money from people. It might be something you could use with photography clients as well. The transfer time is normally a day or less. Paypal is normally 3-4 days on average for me. Just something to think about.
Just click attach and the popup with go away. You are done with it.
Step 3: Send the email
It has attached to your email and when you send it, you will send the money with it. It is that simple. Pretty cool if you ask me!
We have been using this for the tip jar for over a year and it has serve us quite well. I can’t say enough good things about Google products. The boys in Mountain View have done it again. What else do I need to say?
It will come to the HDR academy by the next business day. The transaction is free for you and free for us. No idea how Google makes it (unless the interest from the transfer time) but they give everyone free transfers!
Anyways, if you want to send a tip to the tip jar; this is how to do it!
