A few years ago, I became very interested in the HDR Photography style of work. The problem is you are mostly on your own. Most people doing it won’t tell you how they are doing or they charge a large amount of money. As a result, I learned much of what I know from trail and error.
Now, I want to give away much of what I learned for free. (Yes, there is affiliate links and ads that I make money from) I want to keep the cost as low as possible for the guy that was like me.
I shoot using a Nikon D800, Tamron 15-30mm (F/2.8) and use a Neweer tripod for the most part. While I will do gear review (more software though); I use good gear but older gear. What I use is about $1,200 currently on the market. However, you could do same thing with a Nikon D3200 and a kit lens with a $30 tripod.
How did I end up in photography?
Like most, my education is in something completely differently. My training was in theology and some technology. It is odd for someone that was trained for church ministry to be a professional photographer but I am now. To be honest, I always loved photography, even as a kid.
It was through a personal crisis that I had to dealt with some “personal stuff” that a friend got me do some photography work to ease my mind. Out of that, the passion for photography was relit and I love being behind the camera these days.
I am still the theology guy but I love my photography just as much. I make more money from my cameras than I do from my bibles!
I also lead a Facebook group for people learning Luminar and Aurora; my favorite two programs!
